Prof. R.L. Agarwal

Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from B.I.T.S. Pilani in the year 1951(second batch from Pilani.) Was Assistant Professor Mechanical Engineering at M.B.M Engineering College, Jodhpur. Did two years diploma from West Germany and specialized in Ultra Super Critical Pressure Power Plants. Took voluntary retirement from Department of Technical Education, Govt. of Rajasthan from the Post of Principal, Govt. Polytechnic College, Alwar. Joined Ashok Leyland Ltd at Alwar (the company manufacturing trucks and buses). Was instrumental in setting up the Alwar unit of the company in the year 1982. After retirement from there, worked as Engineering Consultant for a number of industries at Alwar and Rajasthan.
Published 70 technical papers in various journals of National & International level. Delivered a no. of guest technical lectures in various engineering colleges of the country. Is the author of 8 technical books out of which one is in Hindi. A no. of articles were published in various popular magazines in India. These articles were in Hindi & on various current topics. The articles published in magazines like Sarita, Mukta, Kadambari and others. Recently two books in Hindi have been published which are my auto- Biography.
For the first time he had given a project to Govt. of India for generation of electricity from solid waste of cities in India. Initially about 600 MW of electricity could be generated from four cities viz Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata & Chennai.
He is the fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) for the last 40 years. Established the fourth branch of The Institution of Engineers (India) at Alwar in Rajasthan. As such was the founder Chairman of that Centre. The fifth branch of IE (I) in Rajasthan was established in Pilani, Dist. Jhunjhunu with his tireless efforts. A record for establishing two branches of IE (I) in five years by the same person. Is attached to various social and educational organization of Alwar. A number of them are of National & International level and holds the post of Patron or President.
